Apply for Membership — 2026

Joining the Somerset West Bus Fund Association (SWBFA) ensures safe and reliable school transport for learners traveling from Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, and Croydon to Stellenbosch schools.

Application Requirements

To complete your application, all three documents must be downloaded, filled in, and signed by both the parent/guardian and the learner.

✅ Applications close: at the end of November
✅ No membership is automatically renewed — re-application is required annually.
✅ Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis after current members’ preference period ends two weeks after the applications open.

Step 1 — Download and Complete the Documents

All three documents must be signed and submitted together.

Step 2 — Prepare Additional Documents

When submitting your application, include:

Six ID-sized photographs of the learner(s) (with full names written clearly on the back)
Copy of parent/guardian ID
Proof of residence
Proof of payment or approved bank scheduled payments
Subject Choice Form (Grade 12 only, if applicable)
Download Matric Subject Form

Step 3 — Submit Your Application

Completed applications must be:

Hand-delivered to the SWBFA office during hours:
- Address: 16 Derrick Drive, Somerset Business Park, Heritage Park, Somerset West
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:00am – 16:00 and Friday 07:00am – 14:30

Fees & Payment Information

Only EFT electronic payments are accepted (no cash/cheques).
Bank details: Somerset West Bus Fund Association, FNB, Cheque Account No. 53680023471, Branch Code: 200-612.
Reference: Use Scholar Surname + Name (e.g. SMITH John).

Payment options:

Annual upfront with discount if paid by 1 Dec
Termly payments (4 payments for Grades 8–11, 3 payments for Grade 12)
Afternoon-only service at reduced rate

Important Notes

Membership is for the full year 2026. Cancellation requires one full term’s written notice.
Discipline rules are strict. Offences may result in fines, suspension, or permanent removal from the service.
Bus passes will be issued once all documents and proof of payment are received.
